Description: See the last of the great Beyer-Garratt Steam Locomotives in Zimbabwe in crisp 4K as they ply the main line from Hwange to Victoria Falls, Lukosi and Bulawayo to Cement. Also see the last steam hauled revenue freight in all of Africa, shunting coal between Hwange Colliary and Thompson Junction. Captured in July of 2017 on a trip with FarRail, these powerful articulated Cape Gauge locomotives were a mainstay in British colonial possessions around the world where steep grades and sharp curves were often necessary. The colony of Southern Rhodesia was no exception.
