Background on Eid: There are two types of Eid, the first of which is called Eid Al-Fitr. It marks the end of the month of Ramadan, which is the month in which Muslims fast every day from sunrise to sunset. On this day, everyone comes together for special prayers and to congratulate each other on fasting the entire month. The next couple days are then spent visiting friends and family, giving gifts, and enjoying time together. The other one is called Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Adha is the Muslim festival marking the culmination of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and commemorating the sacrifice of Abraham. Muslims all around the world are celebrating Eid and Muslims all over the world are coming back from pilgrimage.
