Description: The Boss DS-1 has been around since 1978! This pedal is a classic even though the sound has been referred as icepicky. I really like the DS-1 Distortion but what really bothers me is the lack of mids. The Tone control of the DS-1 mixes between a low-pass filter (R16 & C12) and a high-pass-filter (R17 & C11) So by removing or changing for example C12 or R17 you remove or change the respective filter leaving more or less mids to pass trough. In this video I give you a few sound examples incl. my favorite mod.
