Description: Here’s a quick look at how I turned this simple mirror I inherited from my Grandma into an “antique” romantic rococo gilt mirror! It’s for my in-progress mermaid princess bedroom. (Had some requests for more info. about this on insta after I shared it in my stories so hope this helps!) ❤️ (Follow me over there & TikTok @TraciHines & on Fbook facebook.com/TraciHinesMusic ) I wasn’t able to show every step in detail for this quick reel but here’s how I did it: 1. find wall onlays or appliqués you like (I got mine online from home improvement stores & amazon) 2. spray paint them gold on both sides (I like rustoleum metallics) 3. tape down your mirror & spray paint the frame to match 4. clean your mirror & glue your pieces on (I like E6000 - make sure you’re working in a well ventilated area) 5. let dry flat overnight & hang it up somewhere you can admire it! 💫 (some extra tips - if you’re doing a leaning mirror don’t glue your onlays to hang below the frame - learned that one the hard way on my 1st mirror revamp last yr. haha! Also make sure the heaviest parts of your onlays are glued down really well onto the mirror. I’ve seen countless tutorials on this kinda thing now but she’s the 1st I ever saw doing it & she’s a real life princess ICON so can’t not mention her when I share my mirror projects! I would DIY that straight into to the trash if I could! 🙃 I can’t wait for the day it’s gone for good haha!)
