As of 2016, the cheetah population was estimated to be around 7,100 individuals in the wild. As the years go by, this figure has only continued to shrink due to the destruction of cheetah habitats. The cheetah’s main asset is its speed. There are very few creatures under the sun that can outrun it. It is the de facto fastest land animal. Its maximum speed ranges between 50 to 80 miles per hour. Adult male cheetahs need to eat on average about 6.2 pounds of meat a day. Cheetahs rarely drink. They do so at least once every 4 days and at most once every 10 days.
