Description: The need for our learners to engage with digital and online learning materials has rapidly accelerated in recent years. In an increasingly unpredictable world, our learners need the skills to be able to work more independently and regulate their own learning. Now, more than ever, learner autonomy can play a crucial role in students’ academic and personal success. But what exactly is learner autonomy, and how can learners develop it? With a particular focus on adult and young adult learners, this session explores the concept of learner autonomy, considers how it can benefit learners and teachers, and introduces practical approaches to developing learner autonomy in digital learning contexts.
