Description: Wooohoooo! One countdown ends and another begins. Also, Sadie can butter her own bread, thank you very much, and Mrs. Yellow is a great chicken mother. Enjoy! The workshop is part steel and part timber frame. The frame will go up the last Saturday in June, with help from friends and heavy machinery. The pizza recipes are Nick recipes, sorry. He doesn't measure everything. But this will give you a good idea, anyway. Nick's Pizza Recipe Crust: Combine 2 and 1/2 cups white flour, 2 Tbsp yeast, 2 cups warm water Stir well Add 2 Tbsp olive oil and 1 tsp salt Add flour one cup at a time up to 4 more cups, until dough is stiff and you can't get the dough to take any more flour. Turn out of the bowl and knead until it is stretchy and bouncy, then divide into three parts and let rise 15 minutes or more Roll or toss or spin into round pizza crusts (You can use your fingers to press it out into the right shape, fancy spinning is cool but not necessary) Add sauce and then toppings, including plenty of grated mozzarella cheese Put a bit of corn meal on the pan or pizza stone to keep the crust from sticking (we used to use a pizza stone but it broke, our round cookie sheets work fine) Bake at 425 or higher -- hot is good! -- until cheese is just starting to brown. Or however you like it. :) Nick's pizza sauce heat a bit of olive oil in a saucepan -- 1 Tbsp is a good guess add one small onion and 2 garlic cloves, both chopped heat, stirring pretty often, until onions are soft or garlic is just beginning to darken (don't burn the garlic!) add one large can crushed tomatoes and one small can tomato paste (if we have our own sauce from the garden tomatoes we do one quart jar of that and let it cook down) add dried oregano, basil, salt and pepper to taste if you like, add a little bit of crushed red pepper to taste cook on low or medium low until thick enjoy!
