Description: Meet California condor chicks Met-ha my wahm (meaning “high wind rider”), Po-mahn-kwakurr (meaning “far-off flyer”) and Eyaip-poman (meaning “flies through”)—three of our newest arrivals at the Park. Each chick's name comes from the Kumeyaay language and was chosen by members of the Kumeyaay bands of San Diego. Indigenous Peoples of North America have long regarded the California condor as a symbol of power, and we are honored to work with local tribes on this conservation effort. sdzsafaripark.org Facebook - facebook.com/sdzsafaripark Instagram - instagram.com/sdzsafaripark Twitter - twitter.com/sandiegozoo GIPHY - giphy.com/sandiegozoo
