Ben, from the Big Fat Five Podcast, found this on his local Craigslist and as soon as I saw them, I knew I needed them. This is an Impact drum, which there isn’t too much info about them on the internet. Everyone, including myself, seems to quote the same forum post from Jon Bermuda, drummer for Weird Al, whenever referencing these drums. Bermuda endorsed Impact drums for about 20 years and is the only one that seems to know anything about them. Impact drums have a thin fiberglass shell with a large cutaway and frontal sound hole for maximum projection. These definitely are in the weird drums family and give off north drums and staccato drums vibes, even though they are very different.
