The first fully refurbished Pendolino for Avanti West Coast and the first Pendolino to have its interior redesigned since the introduction of the class 390's for Virgin Trains 20 years ago. This is 390125 which has been out of action for some time having this overhaul. On this day, April 25th 2022 it was out to play on the mainline in public use for the first time! So of course I couldn't resist a trip to Liverpool and back to have the opportunity for a nosy around. The set was operating the 05:05 Manchester to Euston. Then 08:07 Euston to Liverpool Lime St, where I joined the service at Milton Keynes. Before returning on it from Liverpool to London at 10:47. The refurbishment boasts new improved seating, with power outlets at every seat as well as wireless charging on all tables. More seating, coach G has been transformed to a new Standard Class coach. Leaving Coaches J & K as First and Coach H as Standard Premium. The set also has better onboard wifi and connectivity as well as improved lighting, CCTV throughout and better passenger information screens. As well as a newly designed shop in coach C. Which on this journey was unfortunately full of staff so I didn't get much chance to have a good look at, but it features briefly towards the end of this video.
