Description: Last week I filmed this National Boeing 747-400 at Liege Airport. During its engine start we saw some smoke coming out of engine No. 4. We assume it was a cold start because tha aircraft was parked at Liege the entire night and we had temperatures around -5°. It` s always a pleasure to see this beautiful painted aircraft from National. Here it can be seen departing runway 04R for a seven hour flight to Chicago. I was also able to film the red B747 of National a few days before I filmed the blue one. N936CA used to operate as the only firefighter B747 airplane in the world until National bought the aircraft and converted it back to a freighter plane. Another highlight was the Antonov An124 of Antonov Airlines which operates a charter flight to Istanbul Airport. As always the An124 lined up on the runway and spooled up its engines for about 5 minutes to warm them up. Amazing sound of this classic jetliner. Quite sporadicly an Antononv An12 suddenly showed up in the flightplan aswell and although the light was getting bad I decided to stay to film this aircraft aswell. Meridian Aviation is one of the biggest AN12 operators worldwide and the shown aircraft UR-CIC was delivered to Meridian just a few months ago.
