Description: The BBC will spend £50m researching viewing habits in a bid to find out what its viewers want to watch. But former BBC Producer John Mair says accusations of the BBC wasting money "is a total and utter confection", adding "the BBC is a business and, like all businesses, it does marketing research". The study will research viewers’ behaviour, consumption and “perception”, as well as their viewing experience and satisfaction.
