Description: We've played the Portal game mode Flashback Conquest a few times and while it's a nice change of pace compared to the base Battlefield 2042 maps the game mode or old Battlefield maps have some of the same issues that the base maps have at least within this game mode. Mainly the fact that players are allowed to choose whatever they want for vehicles. A lot of the previous Battlefield games the vehicle choice wasn't like it is today where instead only certain vehicles can be used on each map which made for more balanced and intended gameplay experience. Oh and having attack helicopters, jets and air transport on Arica Harbor just feels wrong. Also in a sort of reversal to the BF2042 maps a lot of the previous Battlefield maps in the Portal aren't really designed or balanced around Specialists so you can get away with some silly things especially with the more mobile Specialists. It might be the absurdity of some of those things or just the fact that I've spent so much time playing those maps previously, either way I found myself getting bored pretty quickly playing as the 2042 factions on previous Battlefield era maps. That or maybe it was because the maps themselves feel off or not to scale to the originals so while they look a lot like the originals it's not quite the same. I wonder if the blue tint they gave the TOW missile screen for Caspian Border was a nod to the "art direction" tint they liked to apply to the maps in BF3. No I haven't gone through all the pre-patch footage I just thought it would be good to put something new or different than the usual.
