Description: Want to know- what are cables? How do you make knit cables? This introduction to knit cables hopes to help demystify some of the uncertainty with knitting cables. Follow Lee Meredith as she guides you through understanding knit cables. Know that cables are stitches twisted around or over/under each other. The stitches are knit just like any other knit stitch, but their positions are moved around on the needle to make the twists or braids. Cables are made with knit stitches, and are surrounded on each side by purl stitches (Reverse Stockinette Stitch) to make them pop off the fabric. Cable patterns can involve different combinations of knits and purls, but the twisting concept is always the same.
