Description: We’re getting more Adventure Time! HBO Max has ordered a new half hour series about Fionna and Cake. Y’all might remember Fionna and Cake from the ninth episode of the 3rd season of Adventure Time, wherein the Ice King reads from fanfiction he created, where he swaps the genders of Jake and Finn - thus, we got Fionna the human and Cake the Cat. Fionna and Cake are now no longer just a figment of the Ice King’s imagination. They’re now part of the Adventure Time timeline and the overall universe. And since they’ll be traversing through the multiverse, there’s a good chance they’ll come across their Adventure Time Prime versions in Jake and Finn. This also opens the door to many new possibilities within the Adventure Time extended universe. As we know from the Adventure Time Distant Lands special, Together Again, Jake and Finn die and come back reincarnated as Shermy and Beth. So this means we’re likely to see Shermy and Beth show up at some point in time, possibly. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s definitely a likelihood since they’re planning on exploring the multiverse within this Adventure Time canonical series. There was also a long-running comic series starring Fionna and Cake by Kaboom studios, so it’ll be nice to see if any of their adventures and some of the characters made exclusively for the comics spill over into the upcoming series. #AdventureTime #CartoonNetwork
