Description: Insomnia has been a challenge for me lately - welcome to the third trimester! Occasionally, I’d have trouble falling asleep prior to pregnancy - what I’d consider normal amounts of insomnia - and once in my second and third trimesters, it became a problem. My midwives and friends told me it was my body’s way of preparing for life with a newborn (and in the same breath, I’d inevitably hear ‘rest while you can!!!’ 🙄). I get that, but I also know how important sleep is for my sanity, well-being and ability to function as a kind and productive member of society. As usual, I did a bunch of research and have tested out various strategies for dealing with pregnancy insomnia and I am happy to share with you what has really worked for me. I hope they help anyone out there suffering from those frustrating sleepless nights, too. I would love to know what you do to battle insomnia - pregnant or not!
