Description: This video walks through a practical example of using an Op Amp to condition the signal coming from a sensor - so that the voltage output from the sensor is altered to meet a desired output voltage range. The tutorial walks thought the practical design process and considerations. The final design using a rail to rail single-supply op amp is shown, built and tested to ensure it meets the design goals. I try to minimize the math involved and stress the practical design considerations. In the end, it uses a nice single-supply op amp from Microchip, the MCP6002 - a very nice general purpose rail-rail opamp, still available in a DIP package, and costs less than $1.
