Every artist, the amateur as well as the master (google arts and culture timeline), goes through various style defining periods but, generally, the early work is not as good as the work of the maturity. That’s the normal evolution of art : the goal is never to simply make something good but something better than last time, at least that’s the goal. What happens then when it feels that you are stagnating ? What happens when it feels that you’re stuck, not moving forward, worse, regressing ? Making a better painting is all about decision making and it’s always about your next project, about the type of painter that you can become.
