Description: The 2022 Rolex watches are only days away as Watches & Wonders 2022 approaches. For the first time, Rolex will unveil its new watches in Geneva, home city of the world's most famous watch brand. Rolex's Instagram and Rolex.com website are hinting heavily that we will see new 2022 Rolex Yacht Master and Air King models. Moreover, Rolex has previewed limited details of what might be a 2022 Rolex GMT Master or Master II with "Coke" bezel. The 2022 Rolex watches are only days away, and Tim Mosso of Watchbox is making his best guesses about what the new Rolex collection. Rolex's social media suggests that its 2022 watches will look "seawards." Teaser photos of the new watches indicate that a 2022 Rolex Yacht Master variant is a foregone conclusion. The images show a Yacht Master case with a Triplock crown marked to indicate 18-karat gold. A rose gold version of the 42mm Yacht Master Oysterflex is a possibility, but so is a 42mm Yacht Master in yellow gold; the tone of the gold isn't obvious from the video. Moreover, a standard 40mm Yacht Master with a matching bracelet would be a world premiere if launched. British professional sailor and Rolex ambassador Ben Ainslie has been photographed in the last year with a prototype titanium 42mm Yacht Master, so this no-date Yacht Master might have previewed a 2022 regular production Yacht Master in titanium. Rolex also has teased a "skywards" direction for its 2022 watch collection. A watch with a Twinlock crown, crown guards, and a fixed bezel has been previewed on social media, and many Rolex buyers and enthusiasts have speculated that this could be a new Rolex Air King. The current Rolex Air King 116900 arrived in 2016, but its controversial dial and similarity to the Rolex Milgauss have limited its popularity. A new Rolex Air King may be only days away. However, any changes to the Air King bring questions about the future of the Milgauss, because the current generation of each watch shares its case, movement, and antimagnetic shield with the other. Since the Milgauss and Air King have been built on the same tooling for six years an all-new Air King maybe bring about changes to the Milgauss or the end of Milgauss production. A 2022 Rolex GMT also appears to be in the offing. A watch with crown guards and a stainless steel Triplock crown appears briefly in Rolex's Instagram teaser video. Since the Submariner was redesigned in 2021 and the theme of 2022 includes aviation, a new Rolex GMT is a logical addition to the collection. Rolex may decide that 2022 is the year to re-launch an historic GMT bezel design like the "Coke bezel" of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, or the "black bezel" of the 2010s. Rolex watchmakers also may decide to re-launch this original GMT Master, a single-zone aviator's watch whose bezel acts as a calculator for the second time zone. There has been no standard GMT Master in the Rolex collection since the reference 16700 retired in 1999. Rolex may decide to re-lauch a regular GMT Master as an entry-level GMT that could reduce waiting lists at Rolex dealers. In order to make the basic GMT Master more appealing, the "Coke bezel" could be released as an exclusive for this model.
