Description: Monopoly mentality is a reference best described by the phrase "Advance to GO, collect 200" The metaphor refers to a pattern of behavior when people during the popular board game of monopoly pin all their hopes on getting chance cards that will "better" their position as opposed to strategic planning and decision making to better enable victory.
