Description: Part two of the mechanical necropsy of the Leitz master optical dividing head. I learn how to pronounce "Leitz" correctly and we finally open the internals that have been sealed up for roughly seventy years. The Leitz master optical dividing head was primarily an inspection tool used to discriminate very accurate angular spacings such as those found on gears and cams. This particular unit got submerged in water and was damaged beyond practical repair. Fortunately for you folks I get to take it apart and study some of the mechanical design elements of this beautifully made instrument. Enjoy.
