Description: Watch me over the shoulder on a great day with mixed weather, the laughing bird and lots of nice finds! I thought at some point that I will have to abort my mission prematurely due to what looked like a storm. Fortunately the weather turned from wind and hail, to sunshine. A miracle? Hmm, a few years ago I've seen a wall of rain coming at me from far away. It stopped 5 meters in front of me! Since then I believe, that anything is possible... Back to this hunt - it started very well with what looked like a 1600's button with a polished gem, to be followed by a 1800's religious cross shortly after. I was already very happy at this point, but I couldn't predict what happens towards the end. A tiny "2 Kreuzer" silver coin from 1624 followed by another one! As this was not enough, I also found a silver shell. Because the location seemed already "cleaned out" with only iron (in form of WWII shrapnel) and some trash left behind, I was concentrating on weak, overlooked signals. But to my very surprise the best find came at the very end, camouflaged as strange shaped iron object. Because of all the WWII remains around, I wasn't paying attention to it, as I probably should (due to the way the rust looked). I wasn't even sure if I should waste my time at home cleaning it... Nevertheless I decided to try electrolysis to see if something interesting comes out of it. I took it out prematurely, removed some of the rust and when I saw the shapes, I had to kick myself, because I wasn't careful enough... I have no idea what it is, but it looks Roman (or "at least" medieval) to me. It appears to have been attached to a poll with a loop for other purposes, at the other end. Was this an item from a Roman wagon? Hmm... I hope you enjoyed this trip. Thank you for watching.
