Water is vital for our health as our body uses water in all its cells, organs, and tissues to help regulate its temperature and maintain other bodily functions. However you should avoid drinking your water like this or it may harm your health. 1. Never drink water that’s too hot Many people enjoy drinking tea, coffee, or other hot beverages. However, according to research, drinking very hot drink can increase the risk of esophageal cancer, and it is therefore advisable to wait until hot beverages cool down before drinking. Drinking water that's too hot can damage the tissue in your esophagus, burn your taste buds, and scald your tongue. You should only drink warm water and not water which is too hot. It is best to drink warm water between 40 to 50 degree celcius. Water that is hotter than 60 degrees is very dangerous as scalding hot water can cause inflammation, which is known to increase cancer risk. 2. Never neglect drinking water Getting enough water every day is important for your health. Water contributes to regular bowel function, optimal organ function and clear, youthful-looking skin. If you don't get enough water, hard stools and constipation could be common side effects, along with dull dehydrated skin. When your skin is dehydrated, your skin will display signs of premature aging like less elasticity and more fine lines and wrinkles. Long term dehydration can lead to kidney damage too. You should try to drink at least 8 cups of water every day for beautiful younger looking skin. 3. Drink less icy cold water Chinese physicians believe that drinking icy cold water frequently is bad for your health. Drinking cold water contracts your stomach, making it harder to digest food after a meal and can slow down your metabolism. According to the Indian traditions of Ayurvedic medicine, cold water can cause an imbalance to the body and slow down the digestive process.
