Yes, talk to yourself to remember more. In this video I talk about a fascinating study by Dr Arthur Gates in 1922 who was inspired by Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1626) in which Sir Francis Bacon stated that the person who reads a book 20 times will not remember as much as the person who reads it 10 times and recites it 10 times. This lead Dr Gates to do some studies where he found that if you will recite what you are learning after you learn it you will remember more. What is even more important is that right after you learn something you should implement this technique. The students who do this will remember 2 times as much right after and 4 times as much 4 hours later. I do what I like to refer to as 'Walk and Talks' where I take the information that I am learning and go for a walk and talk about it. I keep the information in my hand if I need to review but these walk and talks reinforce what I am learning. Join the Old Memory Book Club here brainathlete.club/store (It's free)
