Description: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 has been delayed. Again. Now it's scheduled for release in 2023, but given the long and seasoned history of delays to both the first and second BOTW, there's no guarantee that it won't be delayed again. This is, actually, fantastic news. The longer it takes to make the game, the more new content will be in the game. The game will be more polished. This isn't a Majora's Mask situation: Breath of the Wild 2 is clearly going to be a lot broader in scope with a lot of original assets. And I say that as an enormous fan of Majora's Mask. Is it my favourite in the series? Sometimes, it depends what mood I'm in. Obviously, nobody likes to wait, and I really don't want to dismiss anyone's frustration or disappointment at having to wait longer for this game. I definitely don't want to overlook those people who won't, for many varied reasons, ever get to play the game now. That said, this delay will mean that the game gets all the polish it needs, and that the developers will get to rest, have normal lives, and not be subjected to inhumane crunch. These are all good things for the future of the Zelda series. Plus, if this means we finally get that Wind Waker HD port everyone's been hoping for, I'm happy to wait a little longer. Besides, in this house, we still haven't finished all the DLC content in Age of Calamity. Still gotta get Zelda her Master Cycle Zero!
