Description: Nintendo's long-awaited "Switch Pro" is here, in the form of the Switch OLED Model. No, it's not quite the device that fans were hoping for - there's no 4K out, and no faster processor - but there's no denying that this device is exactly the new Switch model that Nintendo claimed did not exist. In an investory meeting earlier this year, Shuntaro Furukawa, president of Nintendo, insisted that there were no plans for a new Switch model. Lo and behold: a new Switch model. Turns out there were plans after all. In the meantime, Doug Bowser, master of the bluff, has been dodging questions about the Switch OLED Model for years now, effortlessly beating around the bush whenever the topic of a new Switch model - most often the rumoured Switch Pro - comes up. To a certain extent, it's true that this isn't a Switch Pro; rather a device with a slightly better screen. So why not admit that? Why, instead, insist that absolutely no new Switch model was on the horizon? Well, in this case, admitting that an additional Switch option was on the horizon may have been detrimental to short term hardware sales, and that's not something Nintendo's overseers are keen to encourage.
