Description: You already know about Flocabulary…right? Hip-hop videos and lessons covering…every subject, Word Up for vocab, Week in Rap for current events...Well, we’re adding to that list with a set of brand new comprehension lessons and tools! To expand upon the comprehension and literacy instruction Flocabulary already offers, we’ve developed a new instruction experience aimed at helping students build and practice comprehension skills through guided analysis of Flocabulary videos. Flocabulary Mix: We’ve created a library of two new video types: skill videos and video texts. A skill video is a short overview of a particular comprehension skill. A video text is a Flocabulary song and video made to be analyzed using these skills. The combination of a skill video and a video text a Flocabulary Mix. Break it Down: Students will complete a guided analysis of the video through multiple choice questions, evidence gathering—in which they literally select clips from the video to support their answer—and an open ended question to explain the connection between answer and evidence.
