Description: I spent a week traveling around central Japan, and here are some things you can do in Nagano Prefecture in the winter! In part 1 of my Japan winter series, I visited the beautiful mountains in Chino and Komagane city in Nagano. The views at the top of Mt. Kurumayama and Senjojiki Cirque were breathtaking and best of all you can get to the top easily by a ski lift or cable car. For those who want more of a workout, it's a great starting place to hike to the other mountains in the Japan alps!
