We took that a step further by measuring the voltage while using the Milwaukee Tool 2804-20 M18 Drill in a few different scenarios to see what is the best combination of power and weight. There are some surprises along the way and some good hints on batteries you might want to stay away from if peak performance is your goal. While we are only using a drill, it is clear that some high Amp Hour Batteries perform better than others. Milwaukee Tool does not have a battery pack similar to the DEWALT PowerStack yet. We assume that is coming. Battery technology will be changing and getting better and better as they put more power into smaller battery sizes. Remember, power is not all about voltage. Amps play a huge role. As more amps are drawn from the battery and the battery starts to stress, the voltage goes down.
