Welcome back to my channel. In this video I discuss what happens in the cabin and cockpit during a loss of pressurization followed by a depressurization. Without a pressurized cabin and without supplementary oxygen, an average person will lose his or her’s consciousness within 30 seconds at 38000 feet. Whenever there is a loss of pressurization, due to for example a hole in the airplane or system failure, you will notice that the oxygen masks will automatically drop. This will happen at any altitude above 14.000 feet. Your passenger oxygen will not last forever, which means that in case of an uncontrollable cabin altitude, an emergency descent should be made to 10.000 feet or at least the minimum terrain clearance, in order for everyone to breathe normally without the need of supplementary oxygen. The passenger oxygen lasts only 12 minutes. As soon as a cabin exceedance or the cabin altitude/configuration warning horn sounds and the CABIN ALTITUDE lights illuminate, we don the oxygen masks and set regulators to 100%. We set the microphone to MASK and establish crew communications. We select the pressurization mode selector to Manual and we hold the outflow valve switch in close until the valve indicates fully closed. Whenever the cabin altitude after these items is not controllable, we select the passenger signs on and as the cabin altitude is about to exceed 14.000 feet, we select the passenger oxygen switch on. We perform an emergency descent which is a very steep descent in order to go down as soon as possible. ★☆★★☆★★☆★★☆★★☆★ ▼ MY PERSONAL COCKPIT ITEMS ▼ The items I take with me on duty: My Headset: amzn.to/2sLSDzT My Sunglasses: amzn.to/2s5C4km My Pilot Bag: amzn.to/2s5L1u2 All other cockpit gear I use: bit.ly/dpgcockpit ▼ MY VIDEO GEAR ▼ The gear I use to record my videos: My Vlogging Camera: amzn.to/2r3wmw6 My Action Camera: amzn.to/2scgxr6 My Drone: amzn.to/2s5WaLl All other gear I use: bit.ly/dpggear ★☆★★☆★★☆★★☆★★☆★ F A C E B O O K: facebook.com/DutchPilotGirl T W I T T E R: twitter.com/DutchPilotGirl P A T R E O N: patreon.com/Dutchpilotgirl Thank you so much for watching this video!
