Description: This is Part 2 of "Welcome to PragerU - the blog that thinks it's a university." The charity I strongly endorse is called ASRI. It’s a hospital in Borneo that provides affordable health care to villages on the edge of a national park in return for a pledge not to cut down trees, The pledges are monitored,a nd the result is a dramatic decrease in deforestation rates and an increase in the health of the local population. The founders are hoping to spread the idea to other countries. (see psmag.com/social-justice/save-the-trees-well-save-your-life-46121 for an explanation of their work.) You can make a donation by bank transfer here… alamsehatlestari.org/donate …or if you want to do it online they also have a US fundraising arm called Health in Harmony: healthinharmony.org/donate SOURCES: PragerU Frank Pastore video: youtube.com/watch?v=gIorXcloIac&t=74s ‘Minimal’ cell raises stakes in race to harness synthetic life" -- Nature News 24 March 2016 Elephant reacting to music: youtube.com/watch?v=hjsu3SGAdLs “Elephants may pay homage to dead relatives” – New Scientist, 26 Oct 2005 “Are Dolphins Really Smart?: The mammal behind the myth” By Justin Gregg
