Description: Following a surprisingly cool and wet summer, our chickens have finally come home to roost with the current heat wave conditions. With over 90% humidity and high temperatures predicted for the next few days, life will get pretty uncomfortable for our wildlife. I've topped up my bird baths, put out some small bowls of water for our beloved lizards and bees and provided extra water sources for our bats in care. Flying-foxes fan their leathery wings to provide some relief from the heat but adding watermelon and mangoes to their day can only help to keep them a little more comfortable.
