Description: Well, Jedha is technically a moon :D. Open for more information :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Step-by step how-to: Step 1: Outline - draw a circle using a cup or glass or whatever you have at hand Step 2: Add masking fluid with a fine brush. This will be your cloud layer when you are done painting. Clouds follow the movement in the planet's atmosphere, so they tend to look like "bands" of clouds that surround the planet Step 3: Paint a solid layer of light brown, mixed from burnt umber, a warm yellow, alizarin crimson and a little bit of raw sienna. Step 4: Add a “shadow” layer to one side of the planet using a little bit more of the color mixed for step 1 Step 5: Add some orange accents to the surface of the planet to make it look a little less “uniform”. For this, mix some alizarin crimson, a warm yellow and a little bit of burnt umber. Step 6: Add bluish parts of the surface, mix a color from prussian blue, sepia and burnt umber (and a little bit of alazarin crimson). This will be the mountain ranges on the planet's surface. Make them darker in the middle and lighter towards the edges Step 7: Add some details to the dark mountain ranges and deepen the highest parts (more towards the middle of the areas), letting them flow into the brownish red of the flatter surface of the planet. Step 8: Remove the masking fluid Step 9: Add some depth to the cloud layers with your red and blue colors (previous steps) to make them look more three-dimensional and to add some finer details to them Step 10: This is optional, but you can go in with a white gel pen and add some more fine details to the cloud layer. You can see that I allowed each layer I painted to dry completely before continuing. Make sure to let the masking fluid dry thoroughly as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tools and materials used: All water color is from the Schmincke Horadam line The paper is Canson 224 gsm mixed media paper (7x10 inches) Brushes used: - for the masking fluid: rico design art school 7262.001 (size 1) - for the flat washes (first few steps): Da Vinci red sable (size 5) - for the details: rico design art schhol 7329.003 (size 3) Masking fluid: Make by Schmincke ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Music: TITLE: In Your Arms ARTIST: NICOLAI HEIDLAS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ INQUIRIES: email.palestblue@googlemail.com My ETSY-Shop: etsy.com/shop/palestblueshop You can find me on INSTAGRAM @palestblue ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Videos that might interest you: My initial 2015 PLANNER SETUP (Filofax personal size in patent nude): youtube.com/watch?v=9r80uuVLmdg My current PLANNER SETUP (Filofax personal size in patent nude): youtube.com/watch?v=4v4JmYw8t-c Watch me DECORATE my planner pages: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1A1YFsG6UssYh2vR7qYHY-6j9u01h_ck My current favorite ART SUPPLIES: youtube.com/watch?v=juLzmuWvUuU My favorite PLANNER GOODIES: youtu.be/meqknNOEfW0 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Awesome websites: FILOFAX: filofax.com philofaxy.blogspot.de HOBONICHI: 1101.com/store/techo/2015/planner TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK: midori-japan.co.jp/tr/english
