Description: Hypnale zara is an amazing living in Sri Lankan lowlands. This species considered as moderately venomous serpent species. But pit vipers are responsible for the highest number of snakebites in Sri Lanka every year. Because of this reason, it is also considered a “medically important venomous snake" I met pretty well sized couple of them in lowland rain forest.
