Description: ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 18, 2018) U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC) of the Special Boat Team 20, execute the insertion of two Combatant Craft Assault vehicles using the Low Velocity Airdrop Delivery System (LVADS) at 4,000 feet, during a training exercise from a C-17 Globemaster III. The LVADS platform is pulled by the aircraft by extraction parachutes, then the recovery parachutes that are attached to the load deploy to slow the descent and allow a suitable water impact velocity.
