Description: Support me on Patreon! patreon.com/Jafromobile Yoshifab Camber Plates for Colt/Summit/Mirage: yoshifab.com/store/3g-csm-camber-plates-89-92.html People who met me at the shootout heard me complain that my Elantra doesn't stick. No traction. They heard me explain that I DO have drag slicks. They heard me say that at one time even with a Quaife differential, this car still had all the same problems. The transmission that's in it now does not have a limited-slip differential, that one was sold after it didn't fix its traction problems. I blamed the chassis. So what was the problem? Really it's a number of issues, but the main one is putting a turbo 4g63 in a 80 horse economy car using minivan steering knuckles to make it all fit. Just because it fits it doesn't mean it works right. In this video I address two very specific ones related to my traction issues. The Elantra has a LOT working against it if it's to be imagined as a performance car. I can't fix everything to make it stick in one video, but I can solve 2 critical issues working against it. One of which I tried to address once before... but encountered safety issues that put me right back to square one again. The Shootout video revealed a lot more than I could address in this video and I've got some other ideas in the works. I don't have faith that this one fix will solve all of this car's problems, but it certainly did address the accelerator-steer problem, improved the steering response and ride quality. If you're asking what accelerator-steer is... it's like bump steer, but doesn't need a bump. It just needs a gas pedal and enough torque to twist the chassis and lift a wheel. People who install Expo knuckles on Colt/Mirage/Summit/Elantra chassis to swap in a 2.0L turbo know all about it. And so do I. And right here I show you how I fixed it.
