Description: From the time capsule - 1988 - The Surgeon General of the United States warned in May of 1988 that nicotine was as addictive as heroin and cocaine and recommended the licensing of those who sell the product. ''The short answer is that cigarettes are addicting,'' the Surgeon General's report said, adding that nicotine is the drug in tobacco that causes addiction. With this information in mind, one Massachusetts business owner decided to try to help his employees kick the smoking habit through the use of hypnosis - the power of suggestion. Reporter Marcus Jones went to that company office to see how those employees were responding to this novel approach.
