Description: My eBook and Training Program: thebioneer.com/product/superfunctional My physical book: thebioneer.com/product/functional-training-and-beyond The full post: thebioneer.com/training-through-injury Injury is inevitable for anyone who trains regularly. The good news, is that we don't need to completely stop training. In fact, training through injury can help to speed up recovery while allowing you to work on aspects of your performance that may need improving. If you "protect" an injured area by completely avoiding using it, you reduce blood flow to the area, reducing your ability to heal. Effectively, you are showing your body that you can "do without" the muscle or joint. The key, of course, is that we need to train through injury *smartly*. Specifically, that means avoiding any movements that cause pain or discomfort. Never move through pain! Instead, we can focus on comfortable ranges of motion with light resistance. Contralateral training, training with bands, and BFR are all also good options for training through injury. How do you train when injured? Are you training through injury right now?
