Some of my favourite Kaiju from Godzilla 2 and other movies... With Godzilla 2 on the horizon, it seems fitting to make a video about the top 10 godzilla Kaiju. Let’s start with the ones that will appear in the movie: Number 10. RODAN Rodan is a massive Pteranodon kaiju, first appearing in the 1956 movie Rodan. It seems Rodan will be going up against U.S. military jets in Godzilla 2, with the trailer showing him spinning and maneuvering to outclass them, and even using his giant claws to hook a couple. It's left to be seen which side he'll join when Godzilla and Ghidorah throw down, or if "The One Born of Fire" (as Monarch has tagged him) sides with anyone at all. Number 9. MOTHRA Mothra first appeared in Toho’s 1961 film, Mothra. So far, we got a nice close-up of Mothra's face, as well as a cute tease recently with the creature cooing and emitting her warm, white-hot glow. The trailer hints she's a friend to mankind, with Monarch recently designating her "Queen of the Monsters." She may well be Godzilla's ally, but make no mistake: When we finally see the moth spreading her wings and taking to the skies to battle Rodan or Ghidorah, we know she means business. It's a great hint of the power she holds, ensuring the other Titans don't abuse theirs. Number 8. KUMONGA Kumonga is a mutated, enormous spider kaiju first appearing in Toho's 1967 film Son of Godzilla. The trailer shows what appears to be giant legs emerging from an oil-drilling site. While we don't see the creature itself, it seems to possess spider-legs, which point to the giant spider-kaiju Kumonga. In Toho lore, Kumonga hibernated under Sogell Island in a deep cave, and emerged when the ecosystem was threatened by man. Kumonga has been an ally of Godzilla, after coming into conflict with him, and realized Ghidorah was the larger threat. It's likely the drilling won't be the signal for Kumonga to come to the surface, but instead the other Titan activity occurring across the globe. Number 7. ANGUIRUS Anguirus is a fictional character who first appeared in Toho's 1955 film Godzilla Raids Again. In the trailer, there's what seems to be an entire mountain being uprooted, hinting at Anguirus, the irradiated dinosaur who was more of a friend to Godzilla than a creature that merely fought alongside him for survival. While it's an educated guess, what indicates Anguirus is the shape of the mountain. This Titan's Toho appearance was that of a mean four-legged turtle, with spikes on its back and tail, which is the perfect base for a mountain to be perched upon.   Number 6. Ghidorah After teasing Godzilla's arch-nemesis in an electrical storm in the first trailer, we finally see the three-headed dragon in all his glory. Ghidorah definitely cuts an intimidating figure, as he's bigger in size, packing three spiked tails, and oh, yeah, using electric powers against Godzilla. King Ghidorah originated from Toho's Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964). Although Toho officially trademarks the character as King Ghidorah, the character was originally referred to as Ghidrah in some English markets. This trailer doesn't expand on what Monarch's designation of "Monster Zero" means, but it could be that he's the first Titan they began studying in Antarctica. Number 5. Muto No we are heading back to the first American Godzilla movie. MUTO means "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism" and was Godzilla archnemesis in Godzilla 2014 directed by Gareth Edwards. As individuals, the MUTOs aren't given much character development. Being prehistoric parasites, their sole goals revolve around consuming radiation and reproduction. Number 4. King Kong. Whether King Kong is a kaiju is debatable, but we can expect Godzilla to battle him in the upcoming Godzilla 3 movie. Hell he might even cameo in Godzilla 2, king of monsters. Let’s see if I’m right.
