Cuban Solenodon: Cuban Solenodon is a subspecies of eulipotyphla common to Cuba. It belongs to the family of solenodontidae beside Hispaniolan Selonodon and was discovered in the mid of 19th century, 1861, by German naturalist Wilhelm Peters. 9. Arakan Forest Turtle: Arakan forest turtle is also known as semi-terrestrial turtles as they can live on both – land and water. Their name – Arakan Forest Turtle, is because they were discovered in Arakan hills in the region of Myanmar. Only one Arakan turtle was found by a British army officer and unfortunately died in 1908. 8. The Lord Howe Island Stick Insect: The Lord Howe Island stick insect or tree lobster can be grown up to the size of the palm of a man. These insects were found in abundance at the Lord Howe Island in Australia. But they were mostly attacked by black rats… These Rats agh! And unfortunately, they were wiped out in the 1920s. 7. Pava Aliblanca: Pava Aliblanca is also known as White-winged Guan. If we talk about TODAY, only 350 Pava Aliblancas are left on the planet. They were marked extinct due to poaching and hunting; this cruel world keeps on threatening these poor Pava Aliblancas. 6. Horned Marsupial Frog: The horned marsupial frog is named on its leaf-like horns on the top of its heads. The female horned marsupial frog has a pouch on her back to gestate the babies. In 2005 in Ecuador, this species was declared extinct due to deforestation and was not seen for decades. 5. Takahé: Takahe is a rare flightless bird relict to a vegetarian bird fauna native to New Zealand. It is also named South Island Takahe. Only four individuals of this specimen were discovered by Europeans from Fiordland from 1849 to 1898. 4. Caspian Horses: Do you know Caspian horses are counted in the top list of oldest horses? Caspian horses were pulled back from the black hole of extinction in 1965. About one thousand years ago, in the 7th century AD, Caspian horses were extinct as they were not found anywhere for centuries. 3. Clarion NightSnakes: Clarion night snakes are usually found on the black lava rock near the sulfur bay's water and can grow up to 18 inches long. These incredible animals were discovered by William Beebe, an American explorer and naturalist, in 1936. Before its rediscovery, clarion night snakes were declared to be extinct. 2. Javan Elephants: Javan elephants are native to the island of java and the sub-specie of Asian Elephants. Javan elephants were not seen for centuries; Florida Panthers: Finally, we have a Florida panther – a creamy white panther with blue eyes and black strips on ears. Florida panther is subspecies of North American Pumas.
