Description: New Ukulele Tutorials every Wednesday and Saturday, subscribe and learn Today we are going to learn all about time signatures. When you look at a piece of sheet music you are given two pieces of information, the key signature and the time signature, the key signature tells you just that, the key, which is the scale and the chords. The other piece of information you get is the time signature, the signature tells you two things, the first number tells you how many and the second number is what kind, or essentially how long they last. Classic 4/4 for example, the first 4 means you have four beats and the second one means they are 4 quarter beats ( you can imagine the second number as 1/4 if that helps you see that they are quarter beats) 3/4 - Three quarter beats 6/8 - Six eight beats 5/4 - Five quarter beats 7/8 - Seven eight beats In the tutorial we will also walk you through each one of the time signatures, show you which are the strong beats and put them into chord progressions.
