We got LeBron, mini-LeBron, and LeBron in training. LeBron was defending Russ like this, why, ahhh. No bs, let's just talk through this. LeBron James and Anthony Davis met up with Russell Westbrook 2 weeks ago and LeBron said it was the right time to move to small forward/power forward and AD move to Center. But Russ is one of the most ball dominant players in NBA history. And the problem is, Russ already went through a metamorphosis. He took a step back and didn't dominate the ball as much. He lowered his own production, and that still didn't work. I mean we saw this experiment before, a modified version of it with Westbrook as the off-ball guy, in Houston with James Harden. And it didn't work until they didn't have a big man and PJ Tucker was out here playing center. Out of all the players that have shot 1500+ threes in the past decade, Buddy Hield who the Lakers could've gotten ranks 6th in field goal percentage and Russ ranked last at a solid There's a lot to understand. What is the spacing about to be like? I want everyone to understand the gravity of these three getting together. Two MVPs, 3 players who have averaged over 23 points per game for their careers, combined would be above 73 points a game. There has never been a team in the NBA that has two players who are currently top 15 in assists. But also, LeBron is your best shooter and uhm...ok. We talked about Harden, Kyrie, and KD getting together. Jxmy made a chart, as jxmy does. And well if you put last healthy season of AD with last year's Russ and LeBron, they go right here, and if you change the Nets to what actually happened, this Lakers trio is 5th all time, but the last time there were two former assist leaders on the same team, they almost beat the healthy KD Steph Warriors. And now they have an AD added on to that. Again, very different teams, but I feel like people are dismissing how monumental of a group this is. There are 34 all star appearances, 5 MVPs, 30 All-NBA selections, 10 All Defense, 3 scoring titles. And Anthony Davis is still in his prime, Russ is still in that prime window. If that doesn't blow your mind, put them up to the Warriors trio or even the Nets trio, and you'll see, it's madness. In terms of just accomplishments, they blow these other teams out the water. This is a superteam. LeBron has built 3 different teams, he's won finals MVP on 3 different teams. But I can't argue with the results, except for the time that he was wrong, when the Cavs blew it up and Kyrie was traded for Isaiah Thomas, Wade was brought on, it just didn't fit. But there's also just 2 years ago when the Lakers traded their whole team for Anthony Davis and had 3 players on the roster. From a roster of this, a bunch of role players later like Rondo, Howard, Green, Morris, J.R... yeah and bam championship. It's actually quite impressive what they were able to do that quickly. A lot of players will be willing to take pay cuts to play with LeBron. Dwight Howard already said he's ready, DeMar Derozan is cool with taking a pay cut. I don't know what that team looks like, but hey it's being thrown out there. And that's the important thing. Players are lining up to go to LA. And Russ gets to play with one of the best big men in the league, something that he's never gotten the chance to do. I think the most important factor of this equation is really the playoffs. Westbrook hasn't performed in the playoffs, in fact he's self destructed and taken teams down with him. That to me is the most dangerous part of these three getting together. But again, Westbrook has never played with an NBA champion who was a star. Perkins don't count. And just as a preview to the video on how Russ and LeBron can work, just understand that LeBron played with Kyrie and gave up the ball a ton to let Kyrie iso. It wasn't always the most efficient option, but it allowed Kyrie to be in a groove and show up when it counted. And Russ just wants the ring man, he'll listen to LeBron, to an extent of course. But yes this Lakers team is a superteam. A superteam is 3 stars coming together, whatever role players they get, they get, but at the bare minimum, this type of team has never been built before, a unique big three that's gonna be fun to watch. But what do you think? Will the Lakers win it all?
