Description: Manganese Heptoxide is a molecule that does not like to exist, and looks for any reason to decompose violently. In this video I feed a bunch of different stuff to this demon molecule. DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! social media sillyness: instagram: instagram.com/styro.drake patreon: patreon.com/styropyro In this video I synthesize some manganese VII oxide from concentrated sulfuric acid and potassium permanganate. This compound is an incredibly powerful oxidizer that will eat up about anything organic. I test the chemical's reaction against wood, styrofoam, sugar, acetone, methanol, potato chips, charcoal, and even a high powered laser beam. Plus I try the "lightning in a test tube" experiment, which is also a demonstration of the potent manganese heptoxide. In fact I first saw that demo performed by nurdrage: youtube.com/watch?v=Nyzlt-dVgWQ This actually isn't my first video on the subject. I made a video about this in 2010, but I wanted to revisit the subject as I had more tests in mind. Plus since then I've received a chemistry degree so I'm able to go deeper into the theory behind the experiment. youtube.com/watch?v=qQ4BlaqkikQ Stay tuned for more videos! I'm almost finished with the video on the laser sniper rifle.
