Description: I've made this video by request of my subscribers. With the rising lumber prices, lots of folks have considered buying a sawmill. I have milled lumber with both fully manual entry level sawmills as well as full hydraulic Woodmizer LD40's and I'll share my experiences with you. Entry level sawmills such as the Timber King 1220, Woodland Mills HM122, Woodmizer LT15 and Central Machinery mills are affordable but milling lumber with them is extremely labor intensive and there's a lot more to the task than one would think and making quality lumber can be exhausting and discouraging. Watch this before you shop. Homesteading off the grid and on the mountain certainly has its challenges but there's no place we'd rather live. We restored the old camp and transformed it into a cozy home for ourselves, then we cleared more land, built a workshop and greenhouse and spent the late part of the winter starting seeds and now we're busy planting our first garden on the mountain. Little by little we're reaching our goals of having a self sufficient homestead.
