Description: A tuned chainsaw used in the ""Hot Saw"" discipline. This specially tuned chainsaw generally has a 60 to 80 HP single cylinder two-stroke engine, often taken from a snowmobile or high-powered motor bike. Rotary piston engine saws are sometimes also used. These racing chainsaws are customized models often built by the athletes themselves and are only used in the competition, as it takes tremendous strength to control a saw like this smoothly. Furthermore, these saws have no cooling system so they are not suitable for forestry work. A hot saw can weigh up to 30 kg (60 lbs) and the chain rotates at over 250 km/h (155 mph). The cost of such saw is at least EUR 5,000 ($5,924.60 USD).
