Description: After a couple of world wide hits on the Philadelphia International Records label, The Three Degrees signed to Ariola Records in Europe and the US and began working with Giorgio Moroder, who had become famous as a disco producer for his work with Donna Summer. Further success was to follow, and The Three Degrees they released two disco-styled albums on Ariola (New Dimensions in 1978, and 3D in 1979) which delivered them a couple of huge hits, like 'Giving up giving in', 'the runner', 'Woman in love' and 'My simple heart'. Only a few years ago - by accident - a version of 'The runner' was found with Valerie holiday singing the lead instead of Sheila Ferguson. The version is a bit more funky than the version the public knows. I took that funky version and extended it, added some more beat, some loudness and some extra vocals here and there, thus spicing it up a bit. Enjoy this version, no copyright infringement intended.
