Description: Old NBA players hate LeBron James and here's why. #NBA #LeBron #Old | Start speaking a new language in 3 weeks with Babbel 🎉 Get up to 65% OFF in your subscription ▶️ HERE: go.babbel.com/12m65-youtube-mj2kallday-sept-2021/default Second Channel: youtube.com/watch?v=nTve2WeLfhk I'm being serious. This narrative that LeBron couldn't survive in older eras is dumb especially when LeBron played in that older era. Like Rasheed Wallace's career was from 1995-2012 with some of his best years coming on the Pistons when they won a championship in 2004. LeBron got drafted in 2003, and this is what he averaged from 2004 to 2009. Or when he won an MVP? You don't have to think that LeBron is the GOAT, but to say that he wouldn't have thrived? Same with Paul Pierce who said the Celtics weren't scared of LeBron. Really? Not even when LeBron dropped 45 in Game 6? Not even when LeBron was averaging this against you? LeBron came into the league in 2003 and in 2004, hand checking was removed. And this era that these players think about is the hand checking time, cause Rasheed was on the Trail Blazers pushing the Lakers to seven games in the 2000s. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were both All-Stars before LeBron was even drafted. The Pistons did beat LeBron, when he was young. The Celtics beat LeBron when he was young. Jordan said that only players post 2010s that could survive in the 80s and 90s were LeBron, Kobe, and Duncan, but older players that played against LeBron in the 2000s don't give him that. Players are butt hurt that LeBron didn't have to in a sense earn it. He wasn't one of the best players in the league while hand-checking existed. And don't get it twisted, removing hand-checking changed the league. It helped every players offensive game, Steve Nash got two MVPs, perimeter play increased. So even guys like Dennis Rodman think LeBron would've been an average player in the 80s and 90s. Yup, pile on the "LeBron could't hang with us" comments. Rodman stated that LeBron would be an average player in his time and that LeBron came into the age of the game at a perfect time. It's hard to say because each generation gets better because they can look at what other players did and improve it, like players watching AI dribble could improve his crossover, people watching Ginobli's eurostep could practice it at a younger age and have it in their bag. So a direct comparison is not easy. And there are some that say Romeo Langford is better than Kobe...(sigh), yeah that's what we've gotten to. Take legacy away for a minute, players adapt, and the game is different now, what worked then doesn't work now and what works now wasn't emphasized back then. But players and athletes care about paying your dues. It's why years ago, rookies, even top draft picks had to earn their minutes and go through grueling rookie duties. Like it was a thing. So, older players in general with the new generation feel like, they haven't had to fight for it the way the older generation had to. And in this process, there's this war between older and newer players. If you want a video diving deeper into that, let me know but that's why older players don't give LeBron that much credit. But what do you think? I guess I wanna know what you think about older era basketball vs now. I legit released on the gaming channel, so check it out. And check out Babbel man, it's a great way to quickly learn a language. It's ya boi MJ. We out and we vibin.
