Description: People always say that getting a puppy is a big responsibility, and we are definitely starting to see why. Waking up in the middle of the night, multiple training sessions a day, vet appointments, constant potty training, it is a whirlwind of activity but we are loving it! This week we tried to capture what our time with Freja has been like--bit by bit we have been clawing our way back to a normal routine, but every day is different with this little one : ) Part of the beauty of getting a dog is the fact that caring for another life form helps you stay present in your life and not get too distracted by digital devices. In preparation for raising a working line german shepherd, we read a bunch of books by the monks of skete which I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about getting a dog, or hoping to train their dog a bit more. The books have a very practical but also spiritual focus, which we have been trying to embrace in our daily training sessions with Freja. We still have a lot to learn, but its been pretty incredible to see who quickly Freja has been learning and growing.
