Description: The video shows the timelapse of median age of each country from 1950 to 2100 (projected by UN). Age that divides the population in two parts of equal size, that is, there are as many persons with ages above the median as there are with ages below the median. It is expressed as years. Median age provides an important single indicator of the age distribution of a population. It provides the age ‘midpoint’ of a population; there are the same number of people who are older than the median age as there are younger than it. The median age is rounded down, so an age of 35.9 is rounded to 35. Note: the data corresponds to current regions. For example, the data of Russia during the Soviet Union corresponds to only the Russian region of the USSR.
