Description: Remember that one episode of Johnny Bravo where he went out on a date with an antelope? Is he a furry or a zoophile? Well, it seems he might be both. Watching the episode as a kid, I didn’t think much about it and simply chalked it up to cartoon logic. But as times went on, into my adulthood, I found myself going back to that episode and asking the question: was Johnny Bravo a reluctant zoophile? Why would they introduce a cross-species relationship in a kid’s show? For those unfamiliar with what a zoophile is, it’s someone who is sexually attracted to animals. The episode was written by Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy. On that show, we’ve seen Brian the dog date many human women, even having a child with one and a litter with Stewie. Pretty weird how Seth MacFarlane put zoophilia on display for the world to see, almost normalizing it on the show. No one really questioned it. But then again, we’ve seen human, animal relationships depicted in cartoons in the past, so it’s not as if he was breaking new ground with this. But it definitely does seem like he has some sort of obsession with sexualizing human, animal relationships … you think he might be a furry? Nah, I won’t put that on the man. Anyway! The episode from Johnny Bravo is called, Date With An Antelope, where Johnny decides to try online dating for the first time and gets presumably catfished by an antelope. He appears to be cool with it, up to the point where her boyfriend, a talking crab, finds out. #JohnnyBravo and the crab get into a fight, landing both of them in jail for causing a ruckus in public. Diving deeper into the episode, the antelope actually admits that she only agreed to go out on a date with Johnny to make her boyfriend jealous, thus dashing any chances Johnny might’ve had with the animal. That’s not to say that he really wanted a chance with her, she’s not human. But Johnny, despite having all the confidence in the world, has never had much luck with the opposite sex. He’s an Incel in a Chad’s body, doomed to always strike out with women no matter how hard he swings for a W in the chat. Seth MacFarlane really did our poor boy dirty by making it appear as though Johnny hit rock bottom to the point that he was willing to date outside his species for companionship. Johnny Bravo seemed willing to overlook the fact that this is an antelope I’m taking out on a date, because he’s so hard up. But fortunately for him it didn’t work out, as it never does for the guy. I’m glad it didn’t work out, because the last thing we need is for him to bring home an antelope to his dear ole’ mama. Mama Bravo probably wouldn’t have approved … but then again, she might’ve just been happy her boy found SOMETHING that likes him.
